Critical Thinking, Still Required

I want to highlight Shae Omonijo’s Substack because it sits exactly where many conversations about AI should be, but often aren’t.

This isn’t a newsletter about tools, prompts, or productivity hacks.
It’s about thinking, how we reason, how we narrate, how we make sense of things. At a moment when it’s increasingly tempting to outsource those parts.

What I appreciate here is the tone: calm, precise, and quietly rigorous. There’s no panic, no hype, no performance. Just careful attention to how AI intersects with judgment, interpretation, and responsibility.

That makes it especially relevant for creative work.

Creativity doesn’t just depend on generating material. It depends on knowing what to do with it. On noticing assumptions. On resisting shortcuts when they flatten meaning instead of clarifying it.

This Substack is a good reminder that, even in an AI-saturated workflow, critical thinking isn’t optional. It’s the part that gives everything else its shape.
